Our approach
We believe the most successful interiors are those that quietly improve daily living.
Our design process combines creativity with research, integrating principles of wellbeing, ergonomics, spatial efficiency, materiality, and emotional connection. Inspired by Mediterranean living and informed by contemporary design thinking, we create environments that feel calm, welcoming, and enduring.
Every detail is considered not only for how it looks, but for how it contributes to the overall experience of a space.
From the earliest concept sketches to the final material selections, our goal remains the same: to create environments that support and elevate the people who use them.
Beyond the Sea
While Atelier Cala was founded through yacht interior design, the principles that guide our work are not limited to the marine environment.
We are equally interested in private residences and aviation interiors, where wellbeing, materiality and spatial quality play an equally important role.
Across sea, land and air, our focus remains consistent: creating spaces that enhance the human experience through thoughtful design.
Yacht interiors continue to form the core of the studio, while selected projects beyond the marine sector provide opportunities to explore these ideas in new contexts.
Meet the founder
Atelier Cala was founded by Arnau Salvadó, an interior designer whose career has been shaped by some of the world's most respected yacht design studios and shipyards.
Throughout his professional journey, Arnau has contributed to a diverse range of projects, collaborating with renowned names including Royal Huisman, Damen and Mengi Yay. These experiences provided a deep understanding of the technical, creative, and collaborative processes behind some of the industry's most ambitious projects.
Driven by a desire to create spaces that genuinely improve the human experience, he established Atelier Cala as a studio where design excellence, wellbeing, and craftsmanship could coexist in a more personal and thoughtful way.
Today, he leads every project with the same commitment to quality, curiosity, and attention to detail that has defined his career from the beginning.
