The concept
SailXplorer XV53 is conceived as an explorer sailing yacht designed for long journeys. The interior focuses on creating a calm and restorative environment after long hours of navigation, where natural materials, soft light and carefully balanced proportions shape spaces that feel both protective and open to the ocean. Rather than excess, the design prioritises clarity, comfort and purpose, translating the spirit of exploration into an atmosphere of quiet elegance suited for extended expeditions.
Upper Deck
The upper deck bridges the yacht’s expedition character with its guest spaces. The aft lounge offers a covered seating area, dedicated bar and uninterrupted 180-degree views, creating a relaxed setting that remains connected to the yacht’s operations and surroundings. Inside, the saloon becomes a space to decompress after long hours at sea. Custom seating creates subtle micro-social zones, while warm mineral tones, integrated detailing and a bathymetry inspired ceiling establish a calm atmosphere and a quiet connection to the ocean beneath.
Dinning Area
The dining area is conceived as the most adaptable social space on board, hosting up to 22 guests and 15 crew members. Designed to evolve throughout the day, it shifts seamlessly from a relaxed breakfast setting to a strategic briefing room, a lively social hub or an intimate gala dinner. The space balances generosity and intimacy, allowing large gatherings while maintaining a refined and comfortable atmosphere.
Guest Cabins
Designed for long-range travel, the guest cabins are conceived as recovery environments rather than simply luxury suites. Acoustic insulation, minimal visual noise and carefully controlled lighting create a calm setting that supports rest and restoration. Blue light exposure is reduced at night, while morning light sequences help guests wake naturally, responding to the disrupted rhythms of polar summers and dark winters. Sleep is performance, and performance begins in space.
Medical Room
Provides a dedicated space for care and preparedness during long-range expeditions. Designed for remote operations, it supports the crew with a clear, highly functional layout that allows efficient medical assistance when required. Integrated storage, uncluttered surfaces and calm material tones maintain the quiet atmosphere of the yacht while ensuring the space remains practical, accessible and ready for use at any moment.
